Sharing Recent RGB Protocol Learnings

With the stellar documentation from @aaronzhang and the dev environment built by the Bitlight Labs team, we successfully validated the RGB v0.11 token transfer demo and gained a grasp of the protocol’s transfer mechanics.

🧩 Current Problem

To date, no developer has rolled out a fully functional integration environment for RGB v0.12. What’s more, developers struggle to get a clear picture of the key feature upgrades from v0.11 to v0.12. This gap makes it difficult for the community to transition and build on the latest version of the protocol.

💻 Our Improvements

Building on the rgb-sandbox repository and existing demo code (which was incompatible with v0.12) from the @RGBAssociation organization, we revamped the legacy demo.sh script to enable seamless execution of complex RGB v0.12 demo scenarios.

In addition to the code updates, we created a comprehensive walkthrough report for the demo. This report breaks down the core logic and technical nuances of v0.12, significantly easing the learning curve for new developers entering the ecosystem.

🎁 Open Source Contributions

We believe in contributing back to the community and are happy to share our progress:

💡 New developers can dive into the demo mechanics by reading our report, or simply run the demo.sh script locally to see the protocol in action.
